WIP10109 – Bird drawing
This illustration shows a simplified image of a bird perched gracefully on a thin branch. Its wings are spread wide, indicating that it is ready to fly away, either to join the tree or to leave it quickly. Stylized and ornithological, this bird drawing brings a touch of simple nature and freedom. The gesture of flight plays an important role in the symbolism of the drawing.
Transforming the black-and-white image into a custom-made perforated metal sheet adds a whole new dimension to the design. The bird's features gain depth and thickness. Through the magic of the perforated panel's transparency, we obtain a shadow cast on the wall that enhances the effect of the pattern. Depending on the position of the sun, the bird is duplicated, with new feathers drawn on the wall or projected onto the ground in the case of a gate. The CNC perforation technique offers other perceptions of the pattern.
